Hannover (sometimes Hanover) is the capital city of the federal state of Lower Saxony, in Germany. Situated on the river Leine, Hannover’s pride and joy is the medieval Old Town Hall. Having taken one hundred years to build, it has been restored to its full 15th century splendor and is a truly first-rate attraction. Entertainment And Dining Out

There are is a range of activities in Hannover that can cater to any visitors entertainment needs. The area is known for its museums, gardens, forested areas, and cultural events. The Great Garden is an important European baroque garden. Located on what used to be palace grounds, the building is under reconstruction, but the garden offers an incredible place to spend a couple of hours. There is the Grotto (the interior was designed by the French artist Niki de Saint-Phalle), the Gallery Building, the Orangery, and the two pavilions that were designed by Remy de la Fosse. The town has connected 36 of its most important sights in the city centre with 4.2 kilometres (3 miles) of a painted, thin, red line. You just follow the “Red Thread” on the pavement to visit the historic sights of the town. For dining, Weinstube Biesler is one of the favourite restaurants in Hannover. It offers a traditional German menu in a fine-dining atmosphere. Die Insel offers more fine-dining but with a modern twist.

Transport Information

Hanover and the surrounding area are served by Hanover/Langenhagen International Airport (IATA code: HAJ; ICAO code: EDDV). The city’s central station, Hannover Hauptbahnhof, is a hub of the German high-speed ICE network. It is the starting point of the Hanover-Würzburg high-speed rail line and also the central hub for the Hanover S-Bahn. It offers many international and national connections.
