The nearby monument Eleanor’s Cross has given its name to various London landmarks such as a junction, a famous hotel, a major rail terminus, as well as Charing Cross police station. However, Charing Cross Road is not to be confused with the junction by the same name. Rather than getting its name from Eleanor’s Cross, the road was so named as it is the main street serving Charing Cross railway station. The road is situated in the Covent Garden area of central London. Charing Cross Road was also immortalised in the Harry Potter novels, as the location of the infamous Leaky Cauldron.
