Grosvenor Square is an attractive garden square that is situated in the fashionable Mayfair district of central London. It is the property of the Duke of Westminster and its name, Grosvenor, comes from the surname of a noble family that has held the prestigious title. The history of Grosvenor Square dates back to the early 1700s when a license to develop the square was obtained by Sir Richard Grosvenor. Up until World War II, it was considered to be among the most fashionable places to live in London, with many members of the aristocracy living here.
