Cheadle Hulme is a small town located in the metropolitan borough of Stockport, just 7.5 miles from the city of Manchester. Its close proximity to the city has ensured that the town has a booming economy, with local businesses benefitting from the visitor traffic that spills over to the suburbs. While most of the surrounding areas were badly damaged during the Second World War, Cheadle Hulme remained largely unaffected and continues to prosper to date. Cheadle Hulme has its own train station, with three National Rail services running every hour between the town and Manchester.
