Runcorn is a town in the Borough of Halton, located in the county of Cheshire, which is known for being a major industrial hub and port town. Having started out as a small village, development swept through the area at the time of the industrial revolution, with chemical factories and tanning industries becoming a vital part of the economy. Runcorn Railway Station connects the town to Liverpool along the West Coast Main Line while Runcorn East Railway Station is the link to Manchester. Liverpool John Lennon Airport is nearest to the town while Manchester Airport is also relatively close to Runcorn.
