An ancient town that is steeped in history, Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, and is an area that has been inhabited since the 6th century. Home to the famous Warwick Castle, which is not only a historical landmark but a vibrant entertainment venue, Warwick is a fascinating area with much to explore. While the town itself is ancient, a devastating fire in the 1690s, known as the Great Fire of Warwick, destroyed many of the original structures, so a lot of the buildings here do not reflect the true history of the area. Some of the local landmarks and attractions in the town include St John’s Museum, Saxon Mill, Guy’s Cliffe House, and the Market Hall.
