Reaching the region by car is possible through several highways: 401, 407, 7, 7A, 12, 35, 48, 115, Durham Highway 2 and 47. The public transit in the region is serviced by Durham Region Transit bus routes and the GO Transit rail and bus network. The Lakeshore East and Stouffville GO Transit train lines serve Durham and directly link the region to Union Station in the centre of Toronto.
