Founded in London in 1993, we were one of the very first brokerage to provide free, impartial tenant representation in the flexible workspace sector. Decades before "hybrid work" and "coworking" became global business standards, we recognised that companies needed a more agile, flexible way to secure commercial property. 1993 | The Spark

Richard Smith identifies a gap in the London and UK office markets for professional tenant representation for companies seeking shorter-term solutions. Office Freedom is founded, originally as Search Office Space, in London.

1990s | Global Expansion

We become the first brokerage to establish a transatlantic presence, opening our New York office to serve the growing demand in Manhattan and all major global cities.

2000s | The Digital Pivot

We lead the commercial real estate industry in the digital revolution, launching one of the first comprehensive global online marketplaces for flexible workspace.

2010s | The Growth of Coworking

As the coworking movement goes mainstream, we pivot to help larger enterprise clients like Groupon and Spotify adopt agile strategies for their global office space portfolios.

2020s | The Hybrid Future

I started this journey by knocking on doors in Mayfair to build the world’s first global flexible office brokerage.

Over 30 years later, the industry has rebranded and matured, but our core mission remains unchanged. We provide the expertise and the buffer needed to simplify the search process. My team and I are here to ensure you never have to navigate the complexities of the commercial office market alone."
