Business Centre of the Month: Groot Handelsgebouw
It is that time of the month, again, to announce our Business Centre of the Month for May!
With Leigh House and Grosvenor Gardens as our winners for April, the baton passes to our European friends at The Office Operators (TOO) for their centre Groot Handelsgebouw in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Established in 2009, TOO have business centres in five locations, covering cities in the Netherlands and Belgium and, even, Schiphol Airport, an important business hub in the Netherland’s capital. They have worked with some of the most prestigious companies in the world, such as LinkedIn, PepsiCo, Shell and Heineken, and have, therefore, earned the title of the Netherland’s second largest operator.
The business centre in Rotterdam sits in an ideal location in the heart of the city, next to the Central Train Station (you can see the location in the image above, with a pointer to where the office is situated). It is easy to access by train, bus, subway, tram, high speed rail and car, with the centre offering car parking facilities. But, Groot Handelsgebouw isn’t all about location; their team is fully committed to providing over and above service to their tenants too.

They offer an incredibly versatile approach when helping their clients, offering a directory of household and personal issues they can help you overcome, such as pet and child care arrangements, dry cleaning collection, the organisation of moving house or organising flights and hotels for your trips – just for starters! There is also a bar in the centre, which TOO encourage the tenants to take advantage of in their Friday afternoon drinks events to help tenants network.
They also offer a WOW Award, in which team members can win a prize for exceeding a client’s expectation. In Q1 alone, they had 120 WOW nominations! One example of this was when Erik Maartensson, from Siemens, had a confusion with his flight tickets. The TOO team were able to get to the airport and organise to change the tickets, so Erik didn’t lose any working time. Erik said, “I would like to thank the team for an outstanding, friendly and professional service!”

We feel that Groot Handelsgebouw are a worthy winner of our Business Centre of the Month Award for May and we look forward to hearing more about them as they grow in size and locations throughout Europe. Read more about them on their website here and see office space at the centre here!
Catch up with TOO later in May when we do a Q&A with the team over in the Netherlands. If you’d like to apply for SOS’s Business Centre of the Month, click here to find out how to apply and what you need to send for us to consider your centre.
