Citigroup search for office space at Hudson Yards, Manhattan
Citigroup Inc is searching for new Manhattan office space, preferably at the World Trade Center site and the Hudson Yards- an up and coming New York neighbourhood, currently being developed.
The US multinational financial services company already rent approximately 1 million sq ft of office space in Manhattan from Boston Properties Inc, which includes its US headquarters on 399 Park Avenue and other offices on 601 Lexington Avenue. The company also lease 2.6 million sq ft of office space on 390 Greenwich Street in downtown Manhattan.
Last year, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) requested that the far west side of Manhattan should be regenerated, so Hudson Yards can be integrated into the city. The idea is to encourage business development along the Hudson River. Once complete the development will consist of a new railway system, galleries, cafes, shops, restaurants, office space, and even green meadow areas.
