Doggy Day Care - Best Dog Breeds For Office Dogs

Doggy Day Care - Best Dog Breeds For Office Dogs

Studies have shown that employees who bring their dogs to work lead more productive and engaged work lives. A study carried out by the University of Lincoln found that employees who often brought their dogs to work reported 22% higher satisfaction with their working conditions. Those employees also said that office morale improved, as well as colleague relationships and the work-life balance.

Now dubbed the ca-nine to five life, bringing your dog to work has shown a reduction in stress, lower blood pressure and improvement in depressive symptoms. However, the benefits extend beyond health and will help with work performance. Research has shown those who bring pets to work have improved attendance and an increase in creativity. If that wasn’t enough, some companies have stated that the pets have attracted potential employees. The added bonus is that your pets will love the extra hours of company and fuss too.

Research from cv-library found that one in five workplaces now allow pets in the office, and with more and more businesses acknowledging the huge benefits this has on performance and well-being, we’re here to inform you of some of the dog breeds that work best in the office.

Yorkies

A sure pick for the office mascot is a Yorkie. They will charm their way into the hearts of everyone in the office thanks to their ridiculously pretty faces.

Yorkies are extremely social but balance this out with their laidback nature. This personality blend is great for offices. They’re also rather quiet pups and enjoy a snooze or two during the day. They’re essentially beautiful, tiny, lively dogs that are always down to relax, and so every office could benefit from a Yorkie or two.

Maltese

Maltese are perhaps the most laid-back of dog breeds, you may even forget they’re in the office. Their peaceful and quiet nature is guaranteed to ease any work stress, and bonus, they don’t require lots of attention. They’re pretty happy to do their own thing while you meet your deadlines and work those meetings.

They’re also generally upbeat and so they have no problem socialising with other people and animals.

Beagle

The quintessential ‘man’s best friend’ dog. Have you ever been in contact with a dog that snapped at other dogs and came across aggressive? Well, Beagles are quite literally the opposite of that. They’re immensely joyful, undeniably cute, and love playing with other dogs. In fact, they love being around other people in general, making them extremely well suited to an office environment.

What’s more, they’re relatively low maintenance as they have short-haired coats that very rarely smell, shed, and don’t require grooming. They’ll happily cuddle up under your desk and let you crack on. Is there more that needs to be said about these fantastic dogs?

Australian Labradoodle

The Australian Labradoodle was originally bred to be a therapy dog and because of this, they are amongst the best behaved, good-natured, and nurturing dog breeds. They make great dogs for new owners as they’re easy to train, so you won't need to worry about your dog causing havoc in the office.

This breed is also extremely friendly and playful, meaning they’ll happily enjoy the company of other people and dogs, making them the perfect plus one at work. What’s more, they have a non-shedding coat which means no hairy jumpers when you go off to lunch.

English Bulldog

The iconic English Bulldog is not only your best friend, but also your favourite co-worker. This breed is friendly, dependable and as zen as they come. The wrinkled-face pup is a staple for any workplace and its adorable snort, smushed nose will have the whole office fussing over them. Not that they’ll notice, the English bulldog is low-energy and can easily go with the flow of your hectic workday. So, if you’re looking for a dog with a sweet disposition and an obsession with day naps for your office? Then the English bulldog is unrivalled.

Samoyeds

Do you know when the lines between pet and offspring get blurred? That’s what happens when you adopt a Samoyed. These pups are known as the ‘family dog’ because they fit in with any crowd. Samoyeds are smart, gentle and lovable dogs that make for great companions at home or work.

These guys are a little on the larger side when it comes to office dogs, so they may not tuck under your desk with ease, but they’ll do fine around the office. What’s more, they love new environments and new people, viewing them as a treat!

Pugs

Pugs have a special place in any animal lover's heart. Their compact size is amongst one of several reasons why they make for the perfect office dog. They are notorious for their charm and playful personalities and are fairly low energy, choosing to spend the majority of their day napping. They’re practically built to fit in with any worker bee’s schedule.

They have a reputation for being friendly to other dogs and people, so you can rest assured they will mingle with all your co-workers with ease.
