Jonathan Weinbrenn presents a workshop at Google Campus

Last Friday, Search Office Space’s Head of Global Corporate Services, Jonathan Weinbrenn, presented a workshop at the Google Campus in London’s Tech City. Below, Jonathan tells us a little about it.

“My workshop addressed the research and development that led to the launch of meetingrooms.com - an analysis of the changing workplace landscape and the desire to reduce our travelling times to work, reduce costs, lower our carbon footprint and become more productive.

I posed the question;

Why can't we buy space and time that’s either local to us, or half way across the world, in the same way you'd order a taxi through ‘uber’ or book a flight via ‘Skyscanner’?

And now, through our new online portal, you can gather real-time availability of global meeting room inventory and Third Place locations with the ability to book and pay for the transaction on line.

The talk also coincided with the revolution in the way we go to work, the new flexible working laws which came into place on the 30th June, with 20 million employees across the country entitled to ask for flexible hours. You can read more about it by clicking here.

Jo Swinson, the employment relations minister, told The Independent on Sunday that the changes would boost the economy because productivity would rise with a happier workforce.

"We live in a globalised society, we have technology which enables us to be doing work not just from physically being there at the workplace but actually doing so at different times of the day and from different places.’’

I feel privileged that I have been given the opportunity to speak at Google’s Campus about the change in working. It is brilliant to share opinions and knowledge on this growing subject and I’m excited to see this sector grow.”

Thanks to Jonathan for contributing to the site – it’s always great to hear about our SOS team out and about spreading the word on working solutions! For more information about booking meeting space quickly and easily online, see www.meetingroom.com. Watch this space for more from Jonathan.
