Regus launch mobile workspace hubs with Staples UK

Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible offices, have introduced workplace hubs in the stores of stationary chain Staples UK, representatives announced today.

Staples stores in Swindon, Reading, Birmingham and Sheffield are all set to trail a pilot scheme, in partnership with Regus, which will cost users only £5 per day to access.

By purchasing a Regus Businessworld card either online or at a Staples store, customers will be able to access the hubs, which feature meeting rooms and video conferencing spaces as well as print, scan and copy facilities, as well as a secure Wi-Fi connection.

Membership gives you an on-demand business environment, wherever and whenever you need it. Regus have described the scheme as “a revolution in mobile working.”

Their statement continued: “Our business centres provide the very best workspaces to help you stay effective and do business whilst on the move.”

The partnership follows on from similar incentives with Extra Motorway Service Area Group, which saw mobile office spaces opened at motorway service stations in the South East.

Regus currently has 160 centres across the UK and over 1,000 worldwide, and Abigail Van-West (of Growing Business) suggests Regus may be ”positioning itself as a solution provider for commuters by offering a variety of bases [nationwide].”

The scheme is being targeted at the two fifths of Britain’s workers who now work half the week or above at different locations, other than that of their company’s main office.

Steve Purdy, UK managing director at Regus commented on the statistic, saying: “Mobiles, tablets and cloud technology make this possible, but workers still need access to office-type facilities.

“That’s why Regus has chosen to collaborate with Staples UK, the perfect working environment for the mobile worker.”
