Why does everyone want an office in Mayfair?

Everyone’s always talking about Mayfair and its status within Central London, the UK, and even globally. I wanted to know why this area was so desired, so I did a little research and I’ve brought you my findings! Here are my top reasons why Mayfair is the place to be:

  • Nestled right in the heart of London, the location places you in the middle of all the action. Businesses can benefit from proximity to clients and other companies, and residents can benefit from being walking distance from shops, restaurants and amenities.
  • Residential properties in the area are some of the most sought after in the world. You could be rubbing shoulders with any of the number of celebrities who reside here which, in the past, has included Jimi Hendrix, William Blake, Winston Churchill and Harry Selfridge.
  • Oxford Street is nearby, giving you ample opportunity to drop into the many high-street flagship stores and, if you want to visit somewhere with even more prestige, visit the Burlington Arcade, one of London’s most luxurious shopping areas.
  • If you’ve had enough of the urban environment, Mayfair offers a rural escape, in the form of Hyde Park. Being one of the largest parks in the city, Hyde Park is famous for ‘Speakers’ Corner’, as a location for major gigs, such as Live 8, for Winter Wonderland, which takes place in the run up to Christmas, and they even used it in the London Olympics 2012, as part of the triathlon.
  • Many well-known businesses and names have taken space in the area, such as Regus, H.I.G and, even, Tony Blair. The area is a hub for financial corporations, estate agencies and foreign embassies, such as the U.S. Consulate.

  • The area has fantastic transportation links. You can travel easily on the tube, the train, by bus or by car. And, if you’re travelling a little further afield, there are three airports within close proximity, too.
  • Luckily, the area is well-known for their excellent tailors as you’ll need a suit or smart dress to go out in Mayfair. There are many great eateries in the areas, popular with the stars, such as Nobu and Cecconi’s. And, if you need somewhere classy to stay the night, Mayfair is home to five star hotels, such as The Dorchester and Claridge’s.
  • If you want credibility for your company, Mayfair is the most prestigious location in London. It’s a status symbol of wealth, success and notable clientele. By basing your company here, your business will attract attention, make more connections and also thrive.
  • And, last but not least, if Monopoly places Mayfair as the most expensive and important spot on the game board, that’s good enough for me!

It seems to me that Mayfair offers many perks to businesses. It considers all aspects for potential residents; from prestige and past, to its central location, to the connections you make and your business’s future.

Another alternative is to have a virtual office in the area. It's a good in-between as it links your business to the location, without the hefty price tag. Why not read more about the benefits of this service on my previous blog here.
