Heidelberg is a city in south-west Germany. It is located on the River Neckar in a steep valley in the Odenwald. Heidelberg is home to Heidelberg University and is a popular tourist destination due to its romantic and picturesque cityscape. The city offers sights such as Heidelberg Castle and the baroque style Old Town. The hotel and both restaurants are centrally located near the old bridge, and just a few minutes walk to the Marktplatz and the castle.

The closest major airport to Heidelberg, Germany is Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA/EDDF). This airport is in Frankfurt, Germany and is 80 km (49 miles) from the centre of Heidelberg. The A 5 autobahn runs through the western outskirts of Heidelberg, connecting the region to Frankfurt am Main in the north and Karlsruhe to the south. The A 656 begins just west of the city, connecting Heidelberg with Mannheim. Heidelberg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) is on the Rhine Valley Railway and is served by Intercity-Express, Euro City and Intercity-Express trains. This station is served by the RheinNeckar S-Bahn. The main transport hub of Heidelberg is the Bismarckplatz. Several main thoroughfares of the city intersect here and one of the longest pedestrian streets in Europe, the Hauptstraße (main street) runs from here through the entire old town of Heidelberg.
