Cheapside is located in the City of London. In days gone by, this area was famous for its produce markets. In fact, even today, several of the side streets that branch off from Cheapside’s main street are known by the names of the food items that were once sold in the markets – Honey Lane, Bread Street, and Milk Street to name just a few. Over the years, the area has come to be recognised as one of the modern financial centres of London, what with various banks and financial institutions being situated here. It is an important street that connects the East End of the city to the West End.

Modern day Cheapside is a street that houses several executive suites of different businesses related to the financial industry, as well as numerous retail stores. The Bank of England occupies prime office space in the area. Other businesses that have a presence in the vicinity include employment and recruitment agencies, insurance brokers, interior designers, legal consultancies, and cosmetic surgeons. Transport Information

St. Paul’s and Mansion House are the two closest stations on the underground network. Bank tube station is a short walk away, providing access to the Central, Northern, Waterloo & City, District, Circle and DLR lines. The mainline railway network can be accessed through City Thameslink and Cannon Street stations. Several bus routes also service the area.
