The area gets its name from its gigantic Roman column, which was designed to commemorate the Great Fire of London. Nestled in the City of London, at the junction of Monument Street and Fish Street Hill, the landmark also symbolises the reconstruction of the British capital.

The area is also characterised by exciting restaurants and bars, bringing together a diverse crowd of history buffs visiting the memorial nearby, tourists, and local workers from the famous Square Mile.

Setting up your business here

The City of London shares its excellent transport links with Monument, and more importantly, the area also has its own tube station which serves Circle and the District lines. Hence, travelling to and from other central areas is a swift process.

Monument also benefits from its position within the Square Mile, boasting an outstanding portfolio of office locations and a thriving business community.

Culture and Entertainment

Besides the Monument itself, you can also pay a visit to the Tower of London, London Bridge and Lloyd’s of London – all can be easily reached on foot.

The Bank of England (on Threadneedle St), and Saint Dunstan in the East Church Garden (on Dunstan s Hill) are also key points of interest.

Eating out

Visit The Folly on Gracechurch Street for a seasonal international menu. The venue sports good presentation skills, from the quirky, garden-themed interior to the stunning cocktails and dishes.

For Argentinian cuisine, head to Bell Inn Yard and visit Gaucho. This is a must for meat lovers, and the luxurious surroundings can be fitting for special occasions.
