SW1 refers to the postcode district in central London that covers much of the City of Westminster. It is further sub-divided into 8 sections, each of which is denoted with a letter in its name. For example, the area within SW1 that covers Buckingham Palace and Whitehall is known as SW1A, whereas the area that is east of Buckingham Gate falls into postcode SW1H. Similarly, SW1 is divided into 6 more sub-sections that include many famous London sights and landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, Sloane Square, Pimlico, St. James’s Park, the Queen’s residence and Belgravia.

Business Information

SW1 is dominated by the business of government, with several government bodies and organisations occupying office space here. Specialist retail outlets such as Tomtom Cigars, famous jewellery shops, antique dealers, and designer fashion boutiques also do business in the vicinity. Other prominent businesses that have a presence in SW1 include realty companies, financial institutions, management consultants and career training companies.

Entertainment And Dining Out

The National Gallery is considered to house some of UK’s best international art collections and is well worth a visit. Transport Information

There are several tube stations that service SW1. The closest ones are Victoria, St James’s Park, Hyde Park Corner and Sloane Square. Numerous road and bus routes offer excellent connectivity to other parts of the city. Gatwick Airport can be accessed directly from Victoria station. Charing Cross station is within walking distance and provides access to the mainline railway network.
