The West Central postal district of the city of London is further sub-divided into two postcode areas – WC1 being the first and WC2 the second. Portions of the West End, Holborn and an area around Strand all fall under WC2. One of the most famous attractions in London, Covent Garden, can be considered as the central point of the WC2 postal district. The glorious Somerset House is also situated in the area, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. The Courtauld Gallery and Sir John Soane’s Museum are also popular attractions in the vicinity.

Business Information

WC2 houses the serviced offices of many businesses related to the legal industry. You will find that several lawyers, solicitors, legal advisory companies, barristers, and advocates have their offices in the area. Other businesses such as advertising agencies, software developers, and marketing consultants also have a presence here. The retail sector is also well represented by different types of stores such as florists, boutiques, accessory stores and gift shops.

Entertainment And Dining Out

WC2 is regarded as the predominant theatre zone of London, with several world class playhouses in the vicinity. The Aldwych, Novello, and Royal Drury Lane theatres are all close by, providing many great evenings of entertainment. If it’s films you’re seeking, Leicester Square has several of the city’s best cinemas, which sporadically host movie premieres throughout the year. The sheer number of eateries in WC2 will leave you absolutely spoilt for choice. India Club offers authentic Indian cuisine, where the curries aren’t too fiery. Superb Thai food is also available in the area at Thai Square.

Transport Information

Covent Garden, Temple, Embankment, Leicester Square, Holborn and Chancery Lane are the several tube stations in the area where you can join the underground network. For access to mainline railway services, you can make your way to multiple stations such as Charing Cross, City Thameslink, Farringdon, and Waterloo. Numerous road and bus routes will also take you wherever you wish to go within the city.
