Mill Hill is a suburb of London and part of the Borough of Barnet in the north-west of Greater London. The area was traditionally part of the English county of Middlesex and was very sparsely populated until the middle of the 20th century. Mill Hill became popular as a semi-rural retreat close to, but well outside, central London from around the beginning of the 19th century. Today, Mill Hill is an affluent suburb and a busy but pleasant area towards the outskirts of Greater London. Modern day Mill Hill is comprised of three distinct but connected regions, namely the areas around Mill Hill Village, those around Mill Hill Broadway and those close to what is known as Mill Hill East.
