Lincoln’s Inn Fields is one of the largest public squares in London and the oldest in Camden. There has been public open space here since at least the 12th century. The square was famously laid out by Inigo Jones in the 17th century and later enclosed in 1735 under an Act of Parliament. It was opened to the public after its acquisition by London Country Council in 1895.
Lincoln’s Inn Fields is a highly prominent corner building arranged over lower ground, ground and five upper floors. The ground to third floors provide grand accommodation with larger floor to ceiling heights, commensurate with the building’s historical use as a headquarters building. The specification varies throughout the building, with a mix of more traditionally finished rooms at lower level including feature plaster ceiling and wood paneled wall finishes. Upper levels are of a more modern finish, comprising suspended ceiling, plaster painted walls and carpet tiles.
