Herne Hill is a popular district in south London which lies approximately four miles from Charing Cross and is bordered by Brixton, Dulwich and Camberwell. Its great ambience has encouraged a range of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and bars to appear in the area which was once home to art critic, John Ruskin, and the British theatre family, the Lupino’s. The area attracts many first-time buyers and young families who work in the City, as well as the local areas. Sited close to Herne Hill is Brockwell Park; a large area incorporating walled gardens, duck ponds and a miniature railway, along with Herne Hill Velodrome, one of the only remaining cycle racing tracks in London.

Herne Hill is a prosperous area with close access to a number of amenities including high street shopping, fitness centres, restaurants, bars and other entertainment. Things to do in Herne Hill

Whether you are hoping to catch a show, take a client for a meal or enjoy yourself after work there is something for everybody in and around Herne Hill. For an enjoyable evening out, head to Brixton Comedy Club for a night of laughs; or for live music, the O2 Academy Brixton has a lot to offer. Just minutes’ walk from the station is the LOST theatre which is dedicated to showcasing the talents of many of the young arts professionals in the area. When it comes to restaurants and bars in Herne Hill, the choice truly is yours. For an Italian delight, head to Franco Manca or, to indulge in some American comfort food, try Honest Burgers. If you would prefer to find somewhere to enjoy a drink then try The Florence or The Commercial for a speciality beer or Brockwells Wine Bar where you can enjoy a glass or two of your favourite grape juice.
