Teddington is a suburban town in Greater London and the Borough of Richmond Upon Thames. The town lies beside the Thames as it runs west and then north towards central London and Westminster. The area is best known for its numerous areas of impressive open space and nearby royal parks. Other popular attractions, with royal connections, close to Teddington include Hampton Court Palace and Hampton Court Park. The town of Teddington itself is among the more charming in Greater London, with its main high street offering a good variety of retail outlets, coffee shops, eateries and places of business.

Setting up your business here

Teddington, today, is home to dozens of businesses and a healthy supply of quality serviced office space. Commercial properties in the town tend to be clustered at various points close to its central train station and on main roads heading towards and away from the Thames, which runs from south to north a short way to the east. Among the businesses operating in Teddington is the Haymarket Media Group and a number of national publishers working from offices at Teddington Studios. Another notable local employer in the town is the National Physical Laboratory, which is home to the UK’s official measurement standards organisation. Central Teddington is a little more than 10 miles south-west of Charing Cross and is very easily reached by public transport from anywhere in Greater or Central London.

Things to do in Teddington

One of the best things to do in Teddington is simply to wander alongside the River Thames, where you’ll find a number of friendly, welcoming and high quality pubs and eateries. Among the best are the Tide End Cottage, the Anglers and the Wharf. Meanwhile, a short way back from the riverside in Teddington, there are many other great places to eat and drink, not least the King’s Head, a Victorian pub, or Retro, a popular bistro serving seasonal French food in considerable style. Elsewhere, in terms of attractions, visitors can choose from any number of nearby royal parks, which include Richmond, Bushy and Hampton Court, all of which are fantastic places to explore. Or, at the right time of year, you could always visit Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby union, which lies just a short way north of Teddington town centre.
