Area Information

The town of Borehamwood is located in southern Hertfordshire. It lies on the border of London and Hertfordshire, 14 miles from Central London. Its proximity to the city has helped to boost the local economy tremendously. The town gained prominence from 1920 onwards, as it became the preferred location for numerous film and television companies. In fact, the multitude of film production studios that were present in the town ultimately led to the area being referred to as British Hollywood. Classic movies including Summer Holiday and Moby Dick have been filmed here. The Aldenham Country Park is a popular attraction in the region, especially for families seeking quiet countryside recreation.

Large companies that have their executive suites in the region include Barclays, Alstom, NatWest, DVLA and George Wimpey. Pizza Hut has their Britain head offices in the area, as does Regent Inns. The town has some fantastic retail shopping, the predominant retail space being Borehamwood Shopping Park. The closest airport is London Heathrow, a short bus ride away.
