About Charlton

Charlton, in south east London is in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The area has been inhabited for many years, and was even mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. Charlton is within walking distance of the river Thames, and close to the impressive Thames Barrier. Charlton was originally a village which has become more populated as the areas around central London began to be developed.
