About Coventry

Coventry is a thriving city in the West Midlands, the second largest in the county. Coventry is one of the oldest cities in the UK, having been first settled by the Romans. Throughout the Middle Ages it was one of the most important cities in the country, and it continues to be an important centre for business and commerce today. This is primarily due to its central location in England, meaning it is convenient to travel to the major hubs of Birmingham, Leicester and London. Coventry Cathedral is over 900 years old, and is a major tourist attraction. Much of the building was re-built after the Second World War. The city itself lies in a bowl-shaped area of land, making it ideal for housing and settlement. Coventry was the world s first twin city, linking with Stalingrad in Russia.
