Today it is a bustling and vibrant town with many architectural landmarks that recall its past, such as Fort Brockhurst, Fort Gilkicker, Fort Monckton and Fort Blockhouse. The town also has three marinas: Royal Clarence, Gosport Marina and Haslar Marina.

Shipping services and the construction industry are two of Gosport’s larger employers. There are also many serviced offices housing other types of businesses as well. This includes accounting firms, computer support firms, marketing consultants and healthcare professionals. In Gosport you will also find the headquarters of STS Defence, an innovative engineering and manufacturing services provider operating in the defence, security, aerospace and marine markets. The Oakleaf Brewery is also located in the town.

Gosport is great for those looking to eat out with places serving everything from Asian to European cuisine.
