Previously known as Grays Inn Lane, the historic Grays Inn Road is in the King’s Cross area of London. A clue as to the extent of the area’s history was given when in 1679 a hand axe was unearthed. Thought to be around 350,000 years old, the axe now has a home nearby, in the British Museum.
