Area Information

Grosvenor Square is an attractive garden square that is situated in the fashionable Mayfair district of central London. It is the property of the Duke of Westminster and its name, Grosvenor, comes from the surname of a noble family that has held the prestigious title. The history of Grosvenor Square dates back to the early 1700s when a license to develop the square was obtained by Sir Richard Grosvenor. Up until World War II, it was considered to be among the most fashionable places to live in London, with many members of the aristocracy living here.

Business Information

The Grade II listed United States Embassy is on Grosvenor Square but is scheduled for relocation over the next few years, with the building being purchased by an investment group. Taking up business opportunities afforded by offices to let in the area are companies such as financial service providers, investment firms, surveyors, legal service providers, and property management firms.

If you are looking for evening entertainment in the vicinity of Grosvenor Square, you will not be disappointed. Highlights include live classical music at Wigmore Hall, fabulous shows at the London Palladium and lively jazz music at Pigalle. There are many dining options available here too, meaning you can enjoy British and international cuisine at one of a huge choice of restaurants. At Truc Vert, you can sample wonderful French cuisine while delicious American dishes can be enjoyed at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant Maze.
