Situated around ten miles from the centre of Glasgow, Coatbridge is a town that falls under the area of North Lanarkshire in Scotland. Part of the Greater Glasgow urban area, the history of the town as a settlement dates back to the Stone Age period while the town itself is thought to have been founded in the 12th century with the granting of a Royal Charter from King Malcolm IV.
