The town of Chessington is located in the Royal Borough of Kensington upon Thames, in Surrey, England. The name is derived from the Anglo-Saxon words ‘Cissan Dun’, which literally mean a hill belonging to Cissa. The region has been home to many notable residents in the past, including Enid Blyton and Helen Chamberlain. A large number of tourists come into Chessington every year, mainly to visit its number one attraction – The Chessington World of Adventures. This is one of the leading resort theme parks in all of Europe, bringing in people from far and wide. Other local attractions include St Paul’s Church and Coppard Gardens.

Business Information

Sega Amusements Europe, one of the largest video game developers in the world, has its head office in Chessington.
