Newhaven is a town that sits at the mouth of River Ouse and is part of the county of East Sussex. A major port-town, Newhaven has made a major contribution to British maritime history and the harbour is one of the main landmarks in the area. The RNLI Newhaven Lifeboat Station and Newhaven Fort are popular attractions, while Newhaven cliffs are known as a “Site of Special Scientific Interest”, mainly due to the many fossils unearthed along this stretch of coastline.
