Located on the edge of the Salisbury Plains, Salisbury is the only city in the county of Wiltshire and is also known by the name, “New Sarum”. A place known for its beautiful cathedrals and rolling countryside, Salisbury has always been a popular place to live in and remains primarily residential even today. There are many ghost tours that take place regularly around town, visiting the Hall of John Halle and even the Debenhams Department store, which is built on the site where Henry Stafford was beheaded in 1483. Salisbury Cathedral is one of the biggest landmarks in the city while Queen Elizabeth Gardens is also popular among locals and visitors. Stonehenge is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the surrounding area.
