The town of Bridgnorth is in Shropshire in the West Midlands. Named after a bridge on the River Severn, the town is split into two parts, which consist of High Town and Low Town based on their position and elevation in respect to the River Severn. The town was referenced back in 895, which provides an insight into the length of its history. A quaint and charming area, Bridgnorth is home to a number of landmarks and sites that also relate to its rich history. This includes Bridgnorth Railway Station, which is part of the Severn Valley Railway, the ruins of Bridgnorth Castle, Bishop Percy’s House, and Daniel’s Mill.

While Bridgnorth has a heritage railway station, the closes major rail links are in Telford and Wolverhampton. The town is home to the Castle Hill Railway, which links High Town and Low Town and has been running for over a century.
