An ancient town that is steeped in history, Warwick is the county town of Warwickshire, and is an area that has been inhabited since the 6th century. Home to the famous Warwick Castle, which is not only a historical landmark but a vibrant entertainment venue, Warwick is a fascinating area with much to explore. While the town itself is ancient, a devastating fire in the 1690s, known as the Great Fire of Warwick, destroyed many of the original structures, so a lot of the buildings here do not reflect the true history of the area. Some of the local landmarks and attractions in the town include St John’s Museum, Saxon Mill, Guy’s Cliffe House, and the Market Hall.

Business Information

The convenient location of Warwick means that it has become an industrial hub and is home to major facilities or head offices of a number of global companies. Some of the businesses that have office space or commercial units in the town include National Grid PLC, petrol giant JET, IBM, Volvo, Calor, Delphi Automotive, Kantar, Phillips 66, and underwear giant Bravissimo. In addition to this, there are many small and single person businesses with facilities and offices in the town.

Entertainment And Dining Out

When it comes to entertainment you will have plenty of choice. Warwick Castle is the venue for not only historical exploration but for lively medieval nights with dancing, performances, and feasting. It also hosts a number of other events and concerts. Warwick Racecourse provides alternative entertainment while those looking for nightlife will find a range of pubs in the area. A huge choice of restaurants can be enjoyed in Warwick, serving up food from around the world. Tailors Restaurants is a great place for fine British food in an elegant setting, while Micatto specialises in delicious Italian cooking. Spanish delicacies can be enjoyed at Pancho Tapas or you can head to Catalan for a taste of the Mediterranean.

Transport Information

Warwick is a well-connected town in terms of transport links, with convenient road and motorway access provided via the M40 and the A46. Rail links are provided via Warwick Railway Station, which offers direct links to major cities and areas, including Birmingham and London. Buses, coaches and taxis serve the area adequately, which means access to reliable and efficient transportation for commuters. Birmingham International Airport provides the closest link to international air travel.
