Tenth Avenue, known also as Amsterdam Avenue, is a street running north to south through Manhattan’s West Side district. Beginning at Gansevoort Street in the West Village, the street runs southbound for 45 blocks where it is re-signed as Amsterdam Avenue in recognition of Manhattan’s Dutch colonial roots. The street carries on for 129 blocks as Amsterdam Avenue, before ending at a brief stretch of road named Fort George Avenue and is interrupted by Highbridge Park. The road continues after the interruption as Tenth Avenue south of Highbridge for 177 blocks. Running through the Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen neighborhoods of Manhattan, it composes Manhattan’s longest continuous avenue.
Tenth Avenue features a burgeoning new retail corridor with high-fashion outlets and restaurants alike, as well as numerous local small businesses leasing office space in the district. The area is home to several notable universities such as Columbia University and Yeshiva University.
The dining options for Tenth Avenue offer everything from brunch at 44 & X to authentic Mexican at Tulcingo Del Valle to Middle Eastern at Taboon or Thai at Thailand Restaurant. There are also gourmet delis such as United We Stand, nouveau-American restaurants like The Red Cat and Trestle on Tenth and Japanese and Asian Fusion restaurants such as Morimoto. Tenth Avenue extends through Chelsea, Midtown West, Hell’s Kitchen and more, allowing diverse international cuisine options.
As a main thoroughfare in New York City, the area relies primarily on taxis for transportation. The street features subway stations within walking distance at 207th Street and 215th Street. Tenth Avenue is located 10 miles southwest of LaGuardia International Airport, which provides regional and international flights to Canada and the Caribbean isles. The area is 21 miles northwest of John F. Kennedy International Airport, which provides regional and international flights to Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Caribbean isles.
Prices typically are all-inclusive of utilities costs, broadband, meeting room access, and are exempt from business rates (package varies per office).
