Acacia Ridge is a suburb of Brisbane that is situated in the state of Queensland, 15 kilometres (9 miles) south of Brisbane’s central business district. Fundamentally a bedroom community of commuters, Acacia Ridge is primarily a residential neighbourhood. There is a small, heavy industrial area at the east of the suburb. Acacia Ridge also has an ice-skating rink in town and many buildings built during the Second World War era.
Acacia Ridge is home to Toyota’s Southern Queensland regional headquarters. This site is primarily used for managerial and distribution related duties, as opposed to vehicle production. The area of Acacia Ridge provides opportunities for companies to rent office space.
One of the Brisbane area’s few ice-skating rinks, Iceworld Olympic Ice Rinks are located in Acacia Ridge. This rink has been in the Brisbane area for over thirty years. The closest major airport to Acacia Ridge is Brisbane Airport. This airport is 36 km (22 miles) from the suburb’s centre. Acacia Ridge also borders one corner of Archerfield Airport; a small, privately owned airport. Beaudesert Road runs through the centre of the suburb and connects to the Ipswich Motorway at a junction to the North.
