Auckland is a city and metropolitan area in New Zealand. It is situated on the North Island on a narrow finger of land joining the northern peninsula. Auckland has its own major airport that is close to the city centre and easily accessed via a selection of public transport options including shuttles services. Flights out of Auckland Airport allow speedy travel to domestic locations, with international services connecting the country to the USA, Australia, Asia and the Middle East. Within the city there are a variety of ways to get around including buses, trains, ferries, taxis, or hiring your own car.
