Blackburn is a suburb of Melbourne, in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located 17 km (11 miles) east of Melbourne’s central business district. City of Whitehorse is its local government area. Blackburn is bordered by Middleborough Road, Springfield Road, Canterbury Road, and the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary. The name of the suburb can be traced back to one of the early settlers, James Blackburn, who designed the Yan Yean Reservoir. The population of Blackburn is around thirteen-thousand inhabitants.
