Brighton is a suburb of Melbourne, in the Australian state of Victoria. It is located 11 km (7 miles) south from Melbourne’s central business district. The suburb is named after the English city of the same name. Its Local Government Area is City of Bayside. Brighton is bordered by the suburbs Elwood and Hampton. This suburb provides access to the beautiful beaches of Port Phillip Bay. Cyclists can take advantage of the Bay Trail off-road bicycle path, passing through the suburb’s foreshore.
