Boom for start-up companies in 2010
London – with its status as one of the most sought-after locations for office space – boasts a high level of businesses yet office workers looking to rent may need to get in there quickly to secure a place.
The latest statistics from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills reveal a 1.1% rise in the number of new businesses as the quantity rose by 48,000 at the start of 2010.
This leads to an increase in businesses looking to acquire office space in London.
According to Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk, this can only be a positive thing as he says, "Private sector enterprises will create growth in our economy so it is encouraging to see that the number of businesses at the start of 2010 had increased. This was a difficult period, and these figures show the resilience of British business."
