How to woo your coworker crush this Valentine's Day

Declare your undying love for the work wife, husband or crush in your life this Tuesday 14th February with one following (hopefully) failsafe gestures....

1. A blatant display of affection

Wear your heart on your sleeve- nay, your whole body- with this huge heart cushion. It can also double up as a pillow for those late nights in the office. Definitely one for the extroverts.

2. A subtle display of affection

Feeling a little shy? Maintain your anonymity whilst making your feelings clear with one of these little tricks:

  • A secret crush card. Get someone else to write it to avoid being caught out! You could also use newspaper cuttings but this might be seen as creepy and it’s also very time consuming- trust me.

  • Write your message on a heart-shaped post-it and stick it to their computer screen.

  • Leave a little treat on their desk. Perhaps their favourite chocolates or a sugary-sweet coffee from Pret.

3. Spread the love

Lord knows we need a little love in the world right now. Get your bake on and share numerous tokens of your affection with everyone in the office. Cookies, brownies, cherry flapjacks, mini lemon drizzle cakes. Yum.

4. Flaunt your poetic genius

Lost for words? When the language escapes you, take inspiration from John Keats, William Shakespeare and Maya Angelou.

Bright Star by John Keats 1795 - 1821

Bright star! would I were steadfast as thou art—

Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,

And watching, with eternal lids apart,

Like Nature’s patient sleepless Eremite,

The moving waters at their priestlike task

Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores,

Or gazing on the new soft fallen mask

Of snow upon the mountains and the moors—

No—yet still steadfast, still unchangeable,

Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast,

To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,

Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,

Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,

And so live ever—or else swoon to death.

5. Sing passionate 80s/90s power ballads

Cue these classics to get you in the mood..

*Warning: highly addictive listening*

And if all else fails, nothing says I LOVE YOU like a good old fashioned cup of tea…

OR a cappuccino with a heart on top... and a cake for extra brownie points!

Coffee art is a universal crowd-pleaser.
