Looking for ways to reduce business outgoings? Go green.

Anyone looking to would do well to note that businesses are being influenced by a new wave of thinking as a survey by Avery reveals that 47 percent of the UK’s office workers maintain that their office environments have become greener in response to the current economic climate.

Paul Edwards, chair of the British Council for Offices’ (BCO) Environmental Sustainability Group, states that “younger people these days understand environmental issues a lot more so therefore to attract talent and retain talent, companies are seeing a need to deliver on the environmental promise”.

Edwards, who is head of sustainability at Hammerson, is of the opinion that the employment of an environmental strategy within a company is "good business sense".

Further to this, the BCO has also reported that an environmental strategy not only attracts and retains talent, but has a positive effect on a business’ financial situation and is a positive step in reducing outgoings.
