Seriously surprising offices: JWT Amsterdam opens for business
Offices come in all shapes and sizes, but rarely do they feature upside down murals in reception rooms and greenhouse meeting rooms with huge plants.
If you’re on the lookout for some seriously surprising office space, then how about checking out the innovative offices of JWT Amsterdam, the advertising agency based in Amsterdam’s cultural hotspot for restaurants, theatres, bars and clubs.

JWT recently opened their doors to the marketing world, with a design that infuses its seriously old agency age of nearly 150 years with a youthful effervescent mentality. The offices are housed in the famous Hirsch & Cie building, a former luxury department first opened in 1882.

Lead by Ralf Wisbrun, with creative from Bas Korsten, the original design is centred on the premises that our working environment is overtly complex and requires a new approach, which they aim to resolve.

Before the big move, JWT Amsterdam tore down its traditional agency structure, replacing it with three unpretentious departments: Think, Do and Make. JWT’s new office design reinforces this restructuring by creating three completely individual working spaces tailored accordingly.
Think
Envisioned by Koudenburg & Elsinga, 'Think' is an inspirational garden where the JWT's ideas are invented. The space overlooks Leidse Square, which provides an inspirational backdrop and includes a library and podium.

Make
"A happy factory" and place of residence for the digital craftsmen and women of JWT Amsterdam. The huge robot figures actually function as cabinets, (2.8m tall) and help to keep their office looking spic and span.
