SOS Blog Round-Up: September 2011
September has been a very busy month for SOS, so we thought that we would do a round-up of all the news and industry information, just in case you missed anything!
Provider News
- United Business Centres (UBC) announced a second site in Warrington which was great news for the serviced office sector.
- The most expensive street in California was revealed to be Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park – a surprise to many of our readers.
- SOS also welcomed new a whole host of new Business Centres from all over the country, and abroad to our listings. These included, Cheshire’s Park View Business Centre, Executive Suits in Toronto, Premium office space in High Wycombe, a new Business Centre in Harefield, modern serviced offices in Leeds, Executive Business Centre in North Carolina, and many more across locations such as Poole, Marble Arch, Oslo, Canada, and Western-Super-Mare.
Industry News
- Luxury car makers, Jaguar Land Rover, unveiled plans to build a new factory in Wolverhampton, which would result in 750 new jobs.
- Google predicted 365,000 new jobs in the UK thanks to the growth within the internet sector.
- Advances in technology point towards LED Lighting being at the forefront for business and home owners.
- SOS provided readers with a guide to Virtual Offices to reveal some of those frequently asked questions.
- Twitter announced that it had reached an impressive 100 million global users, with predictions of a further 26 million by 2012.
- A recent report by Estate Agents Knight Frank revealed an insight into the future of London’s serviced offices.
- Northern Ireland called for lower rental rates on business centres, and a reduction in Corporation Tax.
- London top the poll on the list of the top 25 serviced office markets in the world with its 414 business centres generating £517 per work station – great news for the serviced office sector.
SOS News
- SOS welcomed the addition of some new employees this September, and would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our team members: Andrew Collins as their new Marketing Director, Hannah Parry as their PR and Marketing Assistant, and Tammy Newell as their Copywriter.
- SOS also launched a new award scheme to celebrate our high standard of business centres. The Business Centre Excellence Award was a closely fought competition, but we can now reveal the winner as Brighton’s CEC Business Centre.
- Thanks to our dedicated sales team, SOS received some great feedback from customers and clients during September.
- We also kept you entertained with the latest gadgets to brighten up your office space.
