Strong rise in SME employment

British SMEs are continuing to recruit strongly according to the well-respected SME survey by the CBI. This growth comes despite declining output. In fact the figures reveal that the UK saw an impressive 11% increase in staff numbers for SMEs during May-July 2012.

The government’s £80bn funding for lending scheme and yet more quantitative easing is intended to increase the credit available to small businesses and help them to expand.

Many SMEs are start-ups, begun by employees recently made redundant. Unable to find the resources to rent offices long-term, large numbers are seeking serviced offices which give them all the advantages larger, more resourced businesses have.

It is this persistent growth in SME’s that is driving some of the demand for serviced offices in both the UK and US.
