The Christmas period is an ideal time for computer hackers to attack, as many businesses will be shut down and unprotected. To deter the threat of hackers, ensure that you have a firewall security and anti-virus software in place which will run for the duration of the holidays.

3. Set Up Your Calendar

Preparation is key, so it maybe worthwhile to set up your calendar ready for 2012. This also means that when you return to work in January, you will feel ahead of schedule.

4. Save Energy

If your electricity bills are not included in your monthly fee, ensure that your switch off all unnecessary lights and appliances such as computer monitors and printers. This will protect your company from a large electricity bill, and also reduce the risk of fire.

Lastly, make sure you keep your clients up to date by creating an email auto-response that states when you will return from your Christmas break. Wishing clients and colleagues a ‘merry Christmas and a happy new year’ will also add some festive cheer!
