Words for Work: Inspirational quotes for 2015

Its been a while since our last inspirational quotes article.

So seeing that we’re nearing the end of the year,

And motivation is low.

What we need is a New Year ‘pick me up’…

A big boost for New Year.

So here’s a list of inspirational quotes from some faces you’ll recognise… And some that you might not!

It takes work to create something beautiful...

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Maya Angelou

and failure is important…

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” Michael Jordan, NBA Legendary Basketball MVP

In fact some people don’t even call it failure…

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas Edison

So from the realms of obscure literature…

“Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.”

Suzanne Weyn, Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium

There may be days when the going gets tough, take it from a man who lost almost everything in one day…

“When you're at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on”

Theodore Roosevelt

Or perhaps that other president who quoted Roosevelt in dark times:

‘Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.’ Richard Nixon

There were plenty trying to pull them down.

There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed. ~Ray Goforth

There’s always room for change

So keep challenging your opinions….

Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. ~ Mark Twain

And sometimes it’s not about how hard you are searching…

"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it." - Henry David Thoreau

…but how much you enjoy the process.

Have a happy, successful New Year we wish you all the best!
