Mannheim is a city in south western Germany, situated in the Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg district. Located where the Rhine River and the Neckar River meet, Mannheim is the second largest city in the area. The National Theatre Mannheim is home to the oldest stage in Germany. The first production was shown in 1782. It was the premier of Die Räuber, written by Friedrich Schiller. This fresh farmer’s market offers fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers for sale. Mannheim German Restaurants include Zur Axt and Heller’s Vegetarisches Restaurant & Café. Heller’s offers a selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Other dining options in Mannheim include Bootshaus, a restaurant offering German cuisine, steaks and other grilled options. Transport Information

Frankfurt International Airport is 65 km (40 miles) to the north of Mannheim’s city centre. There is a ring of motorways connecting Mannheim to Frankfurt in the north, Karlsruhe in the south, Saarbrücken in the west, and Nuremberg in the east. The Mannheim Hauptbahnhof (central rail station) is situated at the end of the Mannheim-Stuttgart high-speed rail line. This station is served by ICE high-speed trains and S-Bahn local train service.
