Moscow is the capital city of Russia. Moscow is situated on the Moskva River, in the Central Federal District of European Russia. Transport Information

Situated near Moscow, there are five primary commercial airports. These include Sheremetyevo International Airport, Domodedovo International Airport, Bykovo Airport, Ostafyevo International Airport, and Vnukovo International Airport. Sheremetyevo International Airport is the most popular destination for foreign travellers. This airport handles over 60% of the international flights coming into Moscow. Moscow’s extensive transit network extends beyond the four international airports and includes nine railway terminals, and one of the deepest underground metro systems in the world. Known as the Moscow Metro, this system is ranked third behind only Tokyo and Seoul in terms of passenger numbers. The 185 stations feature unique and varied architecture, and its art, murals, mosaics, and ornate chandeliers. This system is one of the city’s landmarks.
